How do I email my data to someone else?

Email the File Directly from Cashbook (“Complete” Only)

If you’re a “Complete” user with the latest version and you’ve configured the “Email Setup” already, you can easily email your Cashbook file to someone, such as your accountant, as follows:-

  1. Click on the “File” menu and choose “Email this Data File”
  2. Enter the recipients email address in the “Email To” box
  3. Enter a subject for the email in the “Subject” box
  4. Enter a message in the “Message to Include with Email” box
  5. Click “Send Email” to send the email.  Your .CB data file will be automatically attached

If your .CB file size is too large, then it may fail to send.  If that’s the case, you may need to first “ZIP” your file and use your own email software to send the file (see below).

Email the File Using Your Own Email App

If you use “Home” or “Lite”, or if you need to send your data to someone using your own email app for any reason, you can do that as follows:-

  1. Open your normal email app (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.)
  2. Compose a new email
  3. Click the attachment icon
  4. Browse to your “Documents” folder, then the “Cashbook Data” folder
  5. You should find your .CB data file there, ready to attach
  6. Complete the email message then send when you’re ready

Note:  If you are sending the file to us (Acclaim Software), please include a detailed description of the problem you need help resolving.
